The Anderson Law Firm was victorious in the case of State v. Rasmussen, where it was requesting the Minnesota Court of Appeals to order a new trial. The Minnesota Court of Appeals reversed three (3) convictions of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree and remanded back to the district court for a new trial. The Court of Appeals agreed that our client’s right to a fair trial was violated when the district court allowed the State to introduce hearsay evidence at trial. The Court of Appeals specifically noted that the district court’s rulings impacted our client’s ability to conduct meaningful cross-examination and prejudiced his right to a fair trial.
Because the Court of Appeals reversed the convictions, it did not address several other arguments that were also raised on appeal. Read the full opinion here.
