The Anderson Law Firm was recently successful in a motion to suppress evidence as a result of the stop and subsequent search of our client’s motor vehicle. During the search, law enforcement found methamphetamine and our client was charged with 5th Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, which is a Felony, in Carver County District Court.
Following a contested hearing, the Hon. Steven Muehlburg, determined that the officer did not have a reasonable, articulable suspicion of criminal activity to justify the stop of our client’s vehicle, and thus any evidence that was found as a result of the unlawful seizure is suppressed. The Charge has now been dismissed.
